What can academic librarians learn about student-centered programming and advertisements from resident advisers, many of whom are required to design, advertise, and lead programs to fellow college students as part of their employment in residence life? This presentation will share initial findings about resident advisor perceptions of successful programs and advertising aimed at undergraduate students. These findings are one aspect of an ongoing research project employing cognitive work analysis to understand the program planning needs of resident advisors with the ultimate goal of supporting resident advisers' work while engaging them in leading library outreach efforts to students living in residence halls.
