Alena Principato is the Outreach & Engagement Librarian at Nevada State College in Henderson, Nevada. She enjoys finding creative ways to collaborate with stakeholders across campus and increase awareness about what the library offers. Alena earned a Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), where she received the Carolina Academic Library Associate scholarship. Her experiences at UNC inspired her master’s paper research which is unique in its “undercover” exploration of the presentation and perception of libraries on admissions campus tours. She also holds bachelor’s degrees in English and Art from Lafayette College in Easton, PA.
